The Local Government Board approved this Tuesday the awarding of the contract to Grupo Costa Blanca HTS, S.L. for the installation of awnings on Carrer d’Enmig, the main street of Tabarca, in order to improve climate comfort for residents and visitors during the hottest months of the year.
In this case, it takes place in a location that is especially busy due to its tourist appeal: the island of Tabarca.
The local government team approved this Tuesday, during the weekly meeting of the Local Board, the agreement awarding Grupo Costa Blanca HTS (the only company to submit a valid bid) the installation of awnings on Carrer d’Enmig as part of a project designed to “improve climate comfort for residents and visitors during the hottest months,” according to a municipal press release.
This summer will be very different in Tabarca.
The smallest inhabited island in the Mediterranean will debut new shade sails that will make its streets more attractive during the months when it becomes one of Alicante’s top tourist destinations. On Tuesday, the City Council's Local Government Board approved the installation of these sail-type shading structures on Carrer d’Enmig.
The awnings will cover 500 square meters along this main street of the village and will be divided into two sections: from Plaça Carloforte to Carrer del Moll, and from Carrer del Moll to Plaça Gran—each section measuring 50 meters in length.
